Garage roof deck? Too far

As many of you already know, I am against flat roof decks, at least as they are constructed around here (sleepers with planks directly resting on the roof membrane).

There has been a trend of building single family or 3 unit condos on 40 x 100 lots, having a little back yard but a full lot width garage with a roof deck on top.

But, this week, I saw the ultimate. An entire half court basket ball court on a garage roof deck.

My kids would love it! However they wouldn’t help me when it comes times for a roof replacement.

Great. Of course I mean if they used prestressed concrete planks.
