What do you need to spend to get a camcorder which allows you to pull good res pics for the report?
Anybody know.? I imagine 3 pix would do it. Some of them have sweet zoom. |

I got it the first time; John. It looks fine to me. You don't sound funny to me - No twang. No twang at all. Nope, Can't hear that twang.

I got this little cam and coverted the file to flash (reduced size).
I may offer to take vids for out of state clients for an extra $50. Then I will place it on my server in a flash file (like my sample) and let them veiw it so they can see a little walk through of the house. I can reduce a low resolution 2 minute AVI file to a flash file and get it down to 5 MB. I will give them a link to the clip in their pdf report. (and I will give them a link to download the clip if they want to keep it). Read the report... click and see 2 min walk through clip on their browser, in a flash file format. Easy for low tech clients. Have I got the idea right? I'm getting close. John McKenna, CMI (TREC #4565)

OK... I got this set up ...
This is a sample video tour of a home (1.5 min) http://texas-inspection.com/13 This is the cam I used ($86). It produced a 13 MB avi file from this 1.5 min video tour. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000P6J77G/ref=pd_cp_p_0?pf_rd_p=250314001&pf_rd_s=center-41&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B000T9U4O4&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKI K X0DER&pf_rd_r=1011JGK82G447QTZ9G4Z This is the FREE flash coverter I used to reduce to a 4 MB flash file from this 1.5 min video tour (click done.) http://www.dhost.info/jack1024/video_to_flash_en/ Make code to embedd flash on your site (very easy and you can adjust size anytime). http://cit.ucsf.edu/embedmedia/step1.php Once you have the code set up, you can use the same code each time for different clips. (keep it small so the low quality looks good) So I take 2 min clip at the inspection. Plug in cam and it uploads without software or hassle. Upload to page with pre-set code ready to play flash video. Thats it... now I can offer a brief video walk through service with my my regular inspection and thermal imaging service... That's one way to keep the client out of your hair. tell them they don't need to be at the inspection to see it.
