Default Help. My START menu is on the right of my screen.

My START menu and open windows and emails appear to the right of my screen instead of the bottom. I am using Windows XP.

How do I move that stuff to the bottom of my screen?

Can't you "left click", hold and pull it to where you want it?

That has happened to me a number of times. Why? Who the hell knows? I / you probably hit some odd combination of keys that prompted the move, like when I accidently discovered how to skip to level 6 from level 3 in Super Mario Brothers years ago when I was playing my then 3 y. o. son.

Mine eventually repositions itself to the bottom as mysteriously as it moved. Yours probably will to.

Guys,

Just go to a blank space on the task bar hold down the left mouse key and drag the whole bar to whatever location(top, bottom, left, right) you would like it. Try it now so you know how to "fix" it when it happens next time.

James is right. Left click while pointing at the bar, then drag it and drop it on the bottom of the screen.

A left click and drag it to the bottom again should work. Once you have it back where you want it, if you will right click on the bar, a pop up window will, well pop up, and you can click on "Lock the taskbar" forever ending this nasty predicament.

Is there ever a time when one would want to move the taskbar? And can one "Unlock the taskbar"?

Right click on a blank portion of the task bar. You can choose to lock or unlock it there.
