Retiree dealt $437,000 hand
Retirement means different things to different people. It likely has new meaning for Mike Davis, of Graf, Iowa, who last week retired as a Dubuque-area home inspector.
Davis, 58, won the World Series of Poker Seniors World Championship of Texas Hold-em on Wednesday night in Las Vegas, worth $437,000.
Davis didn’t hold the chip lead until near the end. He outlasted the largest field in the history of the tournament, which began Monday with 2,707 players paying $1,000 to buy in.
