Gerry is having some sort of weird revenge.

Michael Palin for President

Whats wierd about it?

Obama is not a natural born U.S. citizen and so can’t be sworn in as President anyway. The rules (at the time of his birth) required him to have at least 1 U.S. Citizen as a parent and that parent had to be a U.S. citizen for at least 5 years after the age of 16. Obamas mother had him at 18, 3 years too early for her to count. Obamas father was never a U.S. citizen. Obama can’t be sworn in as President and so he is wasting his time.

Nick that one man can be wrong so often on such a wide range of topics is amusing. http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/citizen.asp
Obama was born in Hawaii

But it does explain you being so enamored with that intellectual sack of hammers Palin.

Nope. Being born in the U.S. makes you a citizen, not a natural born citizen (different standard).

To be a natural born citizen, at least one of your parents had to be a U.S. citizen (Obama’s Mom was) for at least 5 years after the age of 16. That was the law from 1952 to 1986. Obamas father was not a U.S. Citizen ever. Obama’s Mom would have had to have waited until the age of 21 to have Obama. She had him at 18.

Stop digging Nick and re read the 14th amendment.
Or perhaps one of your legal scholars can chime in for you, but then again, they do not seem that clever either.

There will be a lot of disappointed campaign donors, when they learn after he’s elected president, he can’t legally be one.

Brian Kelly writes:

Section 1 of Article II of the Constitution contains the clause:

Could you please tell me where in the 14th amendment it says a mere citizen, like a “natural born” citizen, is now permitted to be President as well?

I can’t find it… and neither will you.

A “natural born” citizen requires that at least one of your parents was a citizen for 10 years at the time of your birth, 5 of them had to be after the age of 16.

Which of Obama’s parents was at least 21 years old and a U.S. citizen for at least 10 years at the time of his birth?

Obama is a U.S. citizen, but not a “natural born” citizen.

He can’t be President.

All these jackass bloggers keep talking about Hawaii not being a state and Obama’s birth certificate and Obama’s mom and dad not being married and Obama moving to Indonesia and his dad not being a U.S. citizen…bla bla bla.

None of that matters.

Obama is a U.S. citizen because he was born in the U.S.!

He still can’t be President because he isn’t a “natural born” citizen.

Was he Cesarean born??? :stuck_out_tongue:

Well you might be right Nick that he can not be president, especially if there are more people like you that do not understand the Constitution or our elected form of Government.:frowning:

Nick is right…

Actually Obama is a natural born citizen. Parentage does not matter when you are born in the United States. He is actually closer to being natural born than McCain who was born in the Canal Zone and is only considered a natural born citizen by US Statute.

Maybe global warming is thinning the air even more at Nick’s altitude. Lack of oxygen must be causing these hallucinations.

**The Truth: **

All of these claims are intentional hoaxes, including the version that claims to be from Thomas Sowell. Somebody simply tacked his name onto the eRumor.

First, Hawaii became a part of the United States in 1959. Barack Obama was born in Hawaii in 1961 so his birth was in the United States, not just a U.S. territory. Obama has posted his birth certificate on his web site. CLICK HERE](http://my.barackobama.com/page/invite/birthcert) for that page. Even if he had been born in Hawaii when it was a U.S. territory, he would still be regarded as a citizen. According to The Immigration and Nationality Act, Title III, SEC. 305. [8 U.S.C. 1405], “A person born in Hawaii on or after April 30, 1900, is a citizen of the United States at birth.” Republican candidate John McCain was born in Panama and is considered to be a U.S. citizen under the same act. McCain was born on a U.S. military base and both of his parents were U.S. citizens.

Since Obama was born in Hawaii, the issue of the citizenship of his mother is not relevant.
