The folks at ODMP got back to me on setting up the emergency fund
Barry- It sounds like you're asking about how to setup a non-profit organization. It is actually a lot easier then you would imagine. There are a few IRS forms that you need to fill out and that's it. A good way to do it would be to setup a foundation arm of a pre-existing association. The foundation could then take tax deductible contributions and distribute them to the inspectors in need. Let me know if you need any more specific advice. -Chris I think NACHI knows what to do from here on out. In the event more info is needed contact me and I'll be happy to get back to Chris badair ADAIR INSPECTION 972-487-5634 Residential-Commercial-Construction-EIFS-Infrared Thermography TREC # 4563 EDI: EIFS-MA TX # 39 2008 US Member of the Year life is the random lottery of events followed by numerous narrow escapes...accept the good |

Hello All,
Thanks Nick for your support and raising those funds I will email you later. Richard, yes I have a few needs and I am trying to work those out. Two immediate needs monies and getting myself back to doing home inspections. Medical bills (even with BCBS PPO) are 5k plus missing work, seems to be adding up pretty quick. I really do like the inspector down program. My 2 cents which I believe has been stated already. If you contribute a set fee lets say $20, you would be able to drawl from the fund in time of need. There would probably be a limit that one could receive both annually and lifetime. Committee could verify the medical doctor documents on injury and length out of work. One could drawl according or depending on length of need, with the cap in mind. Thanks, Ray |
