Both Logo's say InterNACHI, do we have a choice now of which one we use? Won't it be a little confusing to clients to see two Logos saying the same thing? I like the original InterNachi Logo better.

How do you "add" to a Logo without changing it, even if it is a small change, and when are we, as NACHI members, going to have to change our Marketing materials, signs, websites, business cards, etc to the New Logo? When we market, do we say that we are members of NACHI or InterNachi, like our Logo says?

When will the new Logo be available, or can I use the Present InterNachi Logo on my new order of Brochures and business cards, and how about the verification seal on our websites?

[quote=gromicko]NACHI took over InterNACHI. Kenton and I are working on a project for NACHI and NACHI TV in China that is pretty big and should bring NACHI an additional 3 million in revenue in 2008. Lewis, the logo was already explained earlier in this thread twice. Here it is again for you Lewis:

http://www.nachi.org/images06/misc-l...ogoConcept.gif

For the record:
Some people have made comments that the recent out of court settlement with NAHI made "us / NACHI " change our name.
That is not so!

Last February when I was in Denver for "The Certified Commercial Building Inspectors Course" Nick told me that the certified mold courses, the indoor air quality courses, the Certified Commercial Building Course, the Certified Master Inspector Program, and the thermal imaging programs where "changing" NACHI. He explained that NACHI was going "international" and that the Title “National Association of Certified Home Inspectors” no longer accurately described who we were as a professional and ever-changing Association.

At that time Nick told me that he was considering several different options/titles for the new and ever-changing NACHI.

A legal name change was not to be taken lightly. Nick is a meticulous and methodical person and I am happy to see that he came up with a "title" that accurately describes our professional Association.

Congratulations Nick! Another job well done!

The International Association of Certified Home Inspectors/ InterNACHI has a New President. When will you announce the position of our new Executive Director?

I nominate Joe Farsetta!

Again Lewis, you are confusing readers by continuing to post that logo on this thread. Please stop. Better yet, remove it from this thread. One more time... Here is how the little addition to our existing logo will look on our existing logo:

We should have the little addition made fully to all our existing logos on our site within 2 years.

Frank is correct, if I could have dumped the word "home" I would have (since we are now an association that does all sorts of inspections, commercial, infrared, mold, etc.), but every expert I consulted with said the equity we have built up in the acronym "NACHI" was worth tens of millions and is way more widely known that the words themselves. Adding the little "inter" to our logo corrects the national defect without diluting the "NACHI" acronym. Same thing American Society of Testing and Material went through when they realized that they were going to be a global association and so switched to ASTM International.

As a side note: I didn't make the "national" or "home" mistakes with www.certifiedmasterinspector.org or www.iac2.org. I left "national" and "home" out of the names of both of those organizations.

As another side note: All three www.nachi.org www.certifiedmasterinspector.org and www.iac2.org have a particular word in common... "certified."

Its not me confusing members Nick, its you, how can you have two InterNachi Logos? Do you mean that now, because of your settlement, we are no longer allowed to use the original InterNachi Logo.

According to the settlement, members will be required to change their use of the NACHI Logo to the new InterNachi version, is that true? How long do we have to do so, and when will the new logo be available so that we can include it when we order new marketing materials?

To me it doesn't matter what you have to do to update NACHI's records, letterheads, or what ever, if I have to use an InterNachi Logo then I have to make changes in my own marketing, which is more important in my opinion. If I display an InterNachi Logo then I'm an InterNachi Inspector aren't I? Why would I display a logo that says InterNachi and then claim to be a Nachi Certified Inspector?

If you want to avoid confusion then do away with the original InterNachi Logo, or your new one.

When they did that Nick there was not an ASTM International organization already in existence, unlike the existing InterNachi

No Lewis. ASTM International was not already in existence, it was the American Society for Testing and Materials.

Often in very successful businesses, the fame in the acronym surpasses the words that make the acronym. Who uses International Business Machinery or American Telegraph and Telephone company any more? I think NACHI has reached that point of success too, which is why we can add "inter" still, but can't remove "home", even though we'd like to.
