Not at all. It is the concept that Nick has clearly explained that you have yet to grasp that appears to be too difficult for you. Go back and re-read his posts with your blinders off. The answers to your questions have already been provided.

Nick makes no mention of NACHI Members being required to change the logo on their marketing material, he changes his logo to "interNACHI" and says that we are still NACHI Inspectors, NAHI's statement says otherwise.

I don't really care what he calls his association, I just want to know which logo to use on my new marketing materials that I'm getting ready to order.

With or without blinders on neither Nick or anyone else has answered a simple little question, Nick has though attempted to make a forced settlement and compromise appear as a great victory, so has NAHI, Spin, Spin

You're planning to renew your membership? Why?

I don't know about you, but I don't work with probabilities. when the new logo becomes official I am sure we will be advised on how to handle it. I would like to know specifically what is and is not accurate about the statement being made to NAHI members by their leaders.

I tend to think that giving notice that NACHI has capitulated could easily be considered "disparaging" remarks.(Something that both organizations agreed that it's employees would not do).

I imagine we will get the full and unvarnished truth of the agreement when it is put into writing. So far my questions in a previous message have gone unanswered.

Lewis,

A number of us have been racking our brains to figure out which one James is.
We finally have our answer...he's definitely Butthead!

So far we know that the corporate entity of NACHI will change the logo on all NACHI marketing materials. Since the agreement is between the two entities I would not be too quick to suggest what members must do.

Personally I don't have a problem using the proposed logo but I bet that members who do not change logos on their own materials would have to be sued by NAHI one by one (if I am interpreting the statements made so far regarding the agreement).

I didn't see either interpretation state that there would be a requirement instituted where members must change logos that they use. As far as I can see, NACHI agreed to withdraw the patent application for the current logo and replace it with the new one, and agreed to use the new on on it's site and all marketing materials.

If I am not mistaken Nick made it clear that the agreement reached applies to the two organizations (and it's employees) only and not to the members.

An interesting thing is that the legal name of the organization will remain the same. Since we are members of the "National Association of Certified Home Inspectors" I am unsure how anyone could enforce a requirement for members to change th way they refer to the organization to the "International Association of Certified Home Inspectors".

None of this is of huge consequence, but it will be interesting to see how it pans out.

Nick,

How does that square with what NAHI is telling it's members?

As is typical with large groups, most (over 50%) of the members don't pay attention and wind up behind the curve.

Even more so in such a group as NACHI, as large as we are.

Most NACHI members are hard working, self employed, single person companies who do more working than checking postings on this board. They are too busy working to be caught up in the petty politics and law suits.

They just want to know what's up and what they have to do to get more business and (mostly) improve their professionalism.

So, many NACHI and NAHI members will just sit back and B*tch and complain and "self-interpret" and read what they want to read (instead of actually READING and taking the time to UNDERSTAND) these documents without really taking the time to check out what they really mean, in the larger world.

Just my opinion.

Will,

Your preaching to the choir here. As for my question I am refering to the interpretations that both organizations leaders have put forward to their members. Beyond the spin, some of the details don't match up.
