NACHI doesn't have one. Neighborhood Environmental at http://www.nachi.org/neighborhood.htm is just all NACHI'd up, like PRO-LAB is at www.reliablelab.com

The other main reason we set this up is ..... well ..... we can't have a mere franchise, or anyone for that mtter, ever outdo us. I simply had to have a better service with a more robust reporting system for less cost available to NACHI members.--

I was dead serious. A lot of my business is referrals from past clients. I also get referrals from realtors. If I do a great job, I may get referrals. If I point someone to a reputable company that does a good job for them, I may get referrals. If I point somene to a scam company that rips them off, I not only will not get referrals, but word will spread like wildfire. Something I learned in the military, "one aww **** wipes out all the attaboys".

I don't care how much you charge for the report. We all know that the liability does not stop there. If your company fails to find one hazard and someone becomes deathy ill or dies, the client's attorney will be looking for any deep pocket he can find.

The quality of your reporting is yet to be seen. Refer to post #7 where I asked to see a sample report on 7/19. Six days later, you are still spinning this as the best thing that ever came along and we still have nothing to look at. Your company is only a few weeks old and the web site is just a sales pitch. There is no substance to it. Questions that come to mind are not answered. There is no contact info. There is a link to send questions by email but....if you won't answer them here, why waste the time on email?

My clients hire me because they are doing the right thing and researching the home that they are interested in. That is what we are doing asking you questions. I won't buy something that I have not researched. I won't refer somone to a company I have not researched. I am not impressed with what I have seen so far. I am disappointed because you have done so many good things for this organization.

I converted the PDF file to a Word file, but it was pretty nasty. Whomever created it in Acrobat wasn't quite familiar with the easy ways to do word processing. Thusly, I created my own modified version (with apologies to NACHI) that includes my business loco and contact information, as well as some other minor modifications. Not that I'll use it because I have different customer service protocols here, but I've always believed that one's company name and contact information is much, much more important than the name of a trade association. Ergo, the emphasis on me and my company rather than NACHI. Anyway....

You can find it stored in the NACHI Library at About Homes. Click on "Library" and NACHI and it is file 0225. You'll need the NACHI password to download it from About Homes.

Then in the next post, you say it is just all Nachi'd up. Saying that it is NOT your baby.

I didn't have any problems with the file whatsoever. I think it was done well.

Also, I can see why it had the NACHI logo at the top as it is an org surveying client satisfaction with it's members. So it made sense to me.


Anyhoo. I've been up all night. Had an emergency three hour trip into Port Townsend at 1am so I am going to read a few more thread and hopefully sleep.

Neither did I.
However, it was a PDF file.
Roy stated that he doesn't have the capability to alter PDF files, so I converted the PDf file to a Word file for him. It was the converted Word file that was pretty nasty.
So I created a similiar Word file making alterations as I would have used it for my company.
That's all.

And if you're trying to help NACHI, absolutely, go for it.
First and foremost, I look out for #1.
And #1 is me.
No one else.
Certainly not a trade association.
I do tend to be helpful to many other people and organizations in many ways, but they still are not #1, so they take a back seat to me, myself, and I (not to mention Ms Margarita and Dr Cuervo).

Thanks for converting that file for us. It looks great. I have another idea for it. Make a 2nd page with your mailing address on it to print on the back. Then you can trifold it and all they have to do is put a stamp on it and mail it.
