Very true. When I started my HI business, I advertised in a local FSBO magazine. I got many calls from my ad, but they were useless. Every time a caller referenced that they seen my ad in the FSBO magazine, they were asking me about lot numbers and questioning me on the house itself. They must have thought I was the builder or the inspector for the builder. I refuse to advertise in home R/E magazines or websites. |

You guys can say what you want but Realtor .com is the main website for our area and plain and simple the majority of realtors here are just experiencing the name NACHI. What is NACHI? I have been asked time and time again. THere is a very big inspector in the area who Joined ASHI (as well as NACHI) but he told me that a lot of the bigger firms wont deal with you unless they recoginze ASHI. I say if you dont brand it, we are losing out. I know there is a difference in the amount of purchases made with an HI and Mcdonalds. That was a moot point I am just saying people use what they know.

The path to success is found in making a consumer, all of a sudden, want you... and only you.
The above statementI copied and pasted as a direct quote from Nick and is the most intelligence statement I have read after reading this whole thread from its git go. My wife the Realtor has a presence on Realtor.com and has had for years simply it is the site of choice for Realtor to list homes for sale not to find home inspectors INachi could purchase a thousand banner adds on this site and have them flashing every where but would those banners or any other form of advertising on that site create a inspection for my company in bohunk Oklahoma absolutely not. IMHO we as a group should be advertising the importance of a home inspection to the consumer and or convincing Realtors that a home inspection is in the best interest of their client for those of us that have the intestinal fortitude to deal with Realtors on a daily basis. I could give a squat less if Nachi promotes Nachi that's up to the powers to be. As a member of this organization Nachi is just a vehicle to bring all of us home inspectors to one gathering place or water hole if you would and it is up to the individual to sample the water or not. I believe it is up to us as members of this association to collectively come up with a plan to directly market to the public and bare the expense this plan could be devised behind this BB through private E-mails to each member that chose to precipitate. As some of you may know I am heavy into IR and have been trying to tie IR into the consumer thought process of home and commercial inspections. I have some ideas on how to do this and would like to share my thoughts and gather your thoughts with out any bashing with any IR home inspector in INachi that would care to E-mail me freedomexpress495@att.net Freedom Express Inspections LLC CMOR Thermography Certified Level III #8486 freedomexpressinspections.com www.oklahomathermalinfraredimaging.com freedomexpress495@att.net NACHI Member Okla.
