Nick, has anything been done? See my previous post. The findaninspector.us link is still grayed out.

===============================

"Dear Chris:

Many of us are disgruntled about the use of www.inspectorseek.com on the top left of the NACHI pages. The more useful www.findaninspector.us search tool is practically invisible to guests (and members)—I’ll admit that I only yesterday noticed it’s there and I visit the site several times each day. The color of the link blends in with the background.

We enter dozens of zip codes because that identifies the markets we serve. Inspectors that live > 20 miles from a municipality are excluded from the search results in the www.inspectorseek.com results. To me, where we live is IRRELEVENT. What’s important is what markets we serve. We who live in the boonies are discriminated against in the marketing based on where we live. I’ve gotten zero leads from this search tool. If you must use inspectorseek, please extend the range from the current 20 miles to a minimum of 50 miles as the default. But that is not the best solution—I drive 50 miles one way to practically every inspection I perform.

Again, I will argue that the logic of inspectorseek is flawed—where the inspector lives is irrelevant.

Please see the links below. Nick seems to agree with our complaint and has posted a message. Thanks for your consideration.

Joe, I agree with you but that decision was made by the membership on a lengthy thread on the old message board. You can probably find it if you look hard enough.

Nothing to do with Chris or I. The decision to have one site search on desired market and one on primary zip code was what the membership wanted. It was the result of a roughly 50/50 split in the membership. So we did one of each. www.InspectorSEEK.com and www.FindanInspector.us Then more recently we did www.InspectorLocator which searches on services offered.

I accept that. However I think Bruce and I are the only ones who grasp Part 2 of the issue: the link at the top left, www.findaninspector.us, is CAMOUFLAGED. I'm tired of beating the issue to death and this is the last time I'll ever ask that THE LINK BE MADE A BOLDER COLOR.

this is the problem I have with findaninspector.us- when doing a search on google or yahoo search engines for 'Vashon home inspection' the results come back and the listings from findaninspector.us (which are in a prominent place towards the top)are for inspectors no where near Vashon. Keep in mind Vashon is an island. It seems my listing should come up first since my address is here.
