The land of Israel goes much deeper than religion and hatred. I lived there for 5 months during th Gulf war and learned alot of their country and culture. Great people and treated every US soldier as a welcomed guest.

On the other hand I lived in Saudi Arabia for a total of 6 years...and guess what, they too are very gracious hosts and pleasant people. I enjoyed my time in both countrys and loved both cultures. Do not believe the media hype.

I have been almost all the way around the world besides the far east...from NE ohio to a small island called Grand Comore I find there to be A holes and great people.

I worked in Israel helping re-build houses during the 2nd Intidada, and found it to be a great country. Just compare its freedoms and prosperity with that of its neighbors.

What I love in all of this discussion is the hypocrisy of the Christian home inspectors who oppose the "Palistinians", who 40,000 to 90,000 are Christian.

OK, let's.

I am a Jewish Home Inspector who does not oppose Christian, or for that matter, Muslim Palistinians, as long as they don't want to kill, maim and terrorize the Israelis.

I know many Christian Palastinians, even the Palistinian Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Bethlehem, Amed Khamai. He has survived 4 assasination attempts. All of the attempts were from Muslim Palistinians.

Christians and Jews get along, quite well, in Israel. There are even Arabs who are Israeli citizens and vote and serve in the IDF and all.

Again, the problem is not Israel, it is some Palistinians, egged on by other Arab (and Persian) countries who just can't stand the thought of a bunch of Jews being so successful and much better off than their people, living on the same land.

Maybe if the Palistinian Government started serving their people, getting them jobs and starting their own industries, there would be alot less killing.

What does Christian have to do with it? The land belongs to Israel, regardless of who or how they worship. Regardless of what the Muslims say or how the media spins it, in 1948 Israeli's regained control of their home they are not occupiers of Palistinian lands. The Crusades started out as a rescue mission, to liberate Israel from the Muslims who overan it.

Christians claimed the rights to the Holy Sites that the Muslims were tearing down and replacing with their own religious sites.

Christians claiming their right to these sites, at the invitation and blessing of the Pope, travelled to these sites to take them back from the Muslims.

No one had any intention of restoring anything to anyone but themselves.

Besides, there was no such thing as "Palistinians" before Arrafat (who was Eqyptian) started his ruckus in 1967.

Sorry to say, but Jim is right. The "Cursaders" slew almost as many Jews as the did Muslims.

But, Ken is also right. The Crusaders were taking back what was theirs. The "Chirstians" possessed that area since Constintine, pretty much, and the Muslims kicked them out. The Crusades were to take them back.

I have a Bible (NKJ version) that was published in 1940. It has, at the back, a "present day" (for that time) map of the "holy land" that it refers to as "Palestine". I don't think Arafat had anything to do with that.
