Safety and Health Topics Electrical In Focus![]() Working with electricity can be dangerous. Engineers, electricians, and other professionals work with electricity directly, including working on overhead lines, cable harnesses, and circuit assemblies. Others, such as office workers and salespeople, work with electricity indirectly and may also be exposed to electrical hazards. The following questions link to information relevant to electrical hazards in the workplace. Information related to the construction industry is covered by a separate topic page. What OSHA standards apply? How do I recognize electrical hazards in the workplace? What are some examples of possible solutions for electrical hazards? What additional information is available?

An accident waiting to happen. At least its a wood ladder, he may fall but he won't become grounded (no pun) when he drills into the electrical line.

This looks like a ladder in a pool and a metalic ladder at that. The man working with an electric drill. Not a good plan.

Remember, safety first! Unless it interferes with production. It never ceases to amaze me of how people manage to try to go one up on stupidity to save a minute or two. Twenty-four years as career firefighter and part time cosntruction taught me that someone will always try to out stupid the next guy, even if they haven't seen it.
