CEU's for the most part SUCK more knowledge out of you then they add.

As for tricking consumers, myself not having much expierience in that department I'll take your word for it.

Your son would not be legally able to inspect a home by himself until he has completed the 200 supervised inspections, and passed the examination for Real Estate Inspector in TEXAS if he is obtaining his license through sponsorship.

CMI is also not a requirement.

You should know these things. Maybe you should have a third option on your poll John

Exactly.

That is why the bicycle add is just plain goofy.

I am as anti-licensing as anyone...but this particular ad just come across as....I don't know the right word....juvenile? I don't think most people, who aren't inspectors, would really understand it.

It's not a comparison between certification and licensing. In licensed states, all inspectors are licensed. But only some inspectors voluntarily choose to go above and beyond their minimum state-mandated requirements. Consumers should seek out these inspectors and would be wise to pay more for them.

The ad is a call to consumers and agents to do their research and not rely solely on the fallacy that one licensed inspector is as good as the next.

Now of course if you believe that one licensed inspector is as good as the next, yes, this ad will offend you.

Then develop that line of reasoning without denigrating and demeaning those of us in licensed states with pretty extensive requirements.
