Our certification process doesn't result in the listing of all licensed inspectors.... only a few. That is exactly the point of the ad. It is not a criticism of licensed inspectors. InterNACHI has thousands of licensed inspectors.

My point being that in Texas, your option #1 is legally, not an option. Therefore The only legal option is option #2, and option #2 is a brand new Real Estate Inspector with 200 supervised inspections under his belt. Supervised by a CMI. That CMI being you.

Does INACHI have a stated position about State Licensing requirements?

"Your local home inspector has met the state's licensing requirements, now go select one that has gone even above & beyond those requirements, hire an INACHI inspector".

OK, so maybe I'm not an ad campaign writer, that's why I'm a home inspector instead. You get my drift though, I bet.

I did about 350 inspections my first year as a licensed inspector. I would take offense to the ad back then, and I take offense to it now.

The poll questions are rhetorical.

Of coarse someone would want someone with more experience and
education to inspect their house, rather than a newbie without
experience.

In fact, anything you do to distinguish yourself above and beyond the bare legal requirements that your state imposes, anything at all, such as taking a course, or joining InterNACHI, or carrying insurance, or purchasing better equipment, or whatever... are things the consumer should research, recognize, and be willing to pay extra for.

If you are a consumer who wants the bare minimum that state licensing attempts to guarantee... go to the state licensed list and do no research at all. Simply price shop.

Your poll questions are sh!t.

The other part is a "Duh".

mike Boyett has come up with the best verbiage that makes the desired commincation for the ad without being offensive, now let's see where it goes.

Actually, I just copyrighted that phrase. I will assign rights to it to INACHI for 50% of the revenue that it brings in.
