I wanted to take a moment to thank you for all that InterNACHI is doing to help me grow my business and stay "alive" in these extremely challenging times.

A great example of this is the Electrical inspection course Will Decker taught last week for the Chicago Chapter.

Mr. Decker is an excellent teacher, and his course is very informative. I can truthfully say that I left the classroom with more knowledge than when I walked in. So even though I've been working with electricity for over a decade, it was still extremely worthwhile to take this class.

But more importantly, I left the classroom with a renewed commitment to protecting my clients, and a deepened sense of responsibility to serve them to the very best of my ability. Inspection and report-writing can get to be a chore, a dull routine. Not only did Will share important technical knowledge, but he also reminded all of us of the importance of the work we do, and that as home inspectors, we have a duty to inform and protect the public.

These are challenging times. Many of us are expecting the number of licensed home inspectors in Illinois to decrease dramatically when the license renewal deadline comes around at the end of November.

But InterNACHI, and the Chicago Chapter, are extraordinary. For an extremely low fee of $55, I was able to cover half of my required CE credits. YOU CAN"T BEAT THAT, ANYWHERE. Lots of people in the inspection industry are getting hungry, scared, and desperate. We would expect the majority of inspectors to be looking for a way to "bump off" the competition. But with Will's electrical class, we see exactly the opposite thing taking place: Inspectors helping inspectors.

As long as members like Will Decker are committed to sharing their knowledge and experience with the newer members, InterNACHI will continue to thrive.
