If you're on an island in the Bering Sea, yes, you can see Russia under the right conditions. Here's a webcam http://www.webcamsk.com/index.php?op...=detail&id=201 You can't see Russian mainland from Alaskan mainland though.

What's more important is that Alaska's capital city is about as far from Moscow as Washington DC is to Moscow, where Obama and Biden hung out as senators. Juneau is closer to Bejing than it is to Moscow, so why doesn't Palin go talking about her relationship with China.
