Mother's Day Memory

When I was a kid, they used to sell carnations outside of church on Mother's Day [and Father's Day, as well]. Folks would wear a pink carnation if their mother was alive and a white carnation if she had passed.

It was heartbreaking to see a young kid wearing a white carnation.

Does anyone else remember this tradition?

I do remember that as well Joe.

Hope all had many pink Carnations today, but I did not.
