Canada is taking me longer. I don't have all the public data I need to clean things up.

Thumbs up Re: Need inspection work? Get up to 250 good local inspection leads now. Totally fr

I got mine this morning, pdf printed fine. I'll try the Excel version next, then get to work on letters and/or postcards. I think it's a great concept, and I wish Brian Long well in his endeavor. I received 108 leads today and he promised the balance within a few weeks, that's fine with me because it helps to keep the list fresh. I've had a lot of interest in MIC, although not as many takers as I would like, and I think this will help expand awareness, leading to more inspections. Thanks again.

James, don't think you have to use them to market MIC or even seller inspections. Every seller is likely a buyer. You can market your traditional home inspection service to them.

Don't think y'all ought to be jumping Brian just becasue he doesn't have 250 in each and every market the requesting inspectos represent.

Give him a shot. At least he's responsive and attentive.

And yeah, I'll bet that he'll charge you for the next batch if you want them. Hey, surprise, Brian wants to make some money for his effort.

Just like the rest of us. Big whoop!

Do you think I'm jumping Brian? Didn't mean to be...I was just attempting to clarify how the system worked. Would it be better to not ask questions and just stumble along in the dark? I can do that......actually, I think that's exactly what I'll do.

Michael, in some areas we're all stumbling along in the dark.

Listen closely the voice told me, "Go to the Light!"

Still stumbling in some areas here.

Yes, and I don't mind that stumbling as long as it doesn't cost me a bunch of money. My thinking is that to send a snail mail to each of the 250 leads will run me somewhere around $150....postage, envelope, paper & printing costs, time, etc. I do want to make sure I'm spending even that small amount on a viable marketing endeavor. That's why I want to validate a sample of the list I received to make dang sure I'm sending to folks that can & will use my services. There's no doubt that if the list is valid then this can be a real winning proposition.

This is a good idea, I've done it before and I'll admit this is much easier and less time consuming then doing the research myself.

But I feel it is bad timing to market this concept now, right before the holidays and usually the slowest RE month of the year. Now if it was Sept. or March, with updated addresses it would work a lot better.

Ah, Chris, timing is, indded, everything. If it was September or March, the names may not need our services by the time they get our marketing materials.

We have an opportunity to send them a Holiday card or other mailing, right at the time they expect to get cards and generally open lots of mail. We can then also send (to those who's mailing didn't get returned) a reminder after the first of the year.

That's how I plan on proceding, anyhow.

Be sure to get something out before and after the Holidays. Family will be getting together and who knows, Uncle Bob may need an inspector and we would have just mailed Nephew Bill.
