How does it look in black and white? The only option sometimes.
It may stand out, but it also looks dated IMHO.

Good comment Frank. A logo that transitions well into black and white is a good logo. It helps to keep the design simple and flat. I always work on designs in black and white first. There are some exceptions that I make due to specific requests by the person having the logo designed.
