(Poll Question 3) According to section 2 A. of the draft New York State Code of Ethics, inspectors must have a written contract with their client, which must state the following:

"Home inspectors are not permitted to make any statements or comments concerning the adequacy or soundness of the home, it structure or systems and are not permitted to provide engineering or architectural services."

Why would you want your governmental officials to know that you are more concerned with your professional referral sources than your referrals from consumers who have used your service or heard of you? This question demonstrates an approach that you are not concerned with consumer protection but rather with your own business and wants. A much better question for this poll would be:

Will this reduce number of referrals you get from satisfied clients once they are made aware of this requirement and its implications?
