I got my 2 from NACHI - never had a problem.

PLUS, like old Chuck Bartley already said - go to a Cop Shop.

Our local one fixes them basically FREE on most malfunctions.

If you are looking for local retailers, try:
http://www.streamlite.com/locator.jsp

Also, the great thing about getting streamlight products is that they have a lifetime warranty (as stated in the support section of the streamlight website):
Limited Lifetime Warranty
Streamlight warrants its products to be free of defect for a lifetime of use.*
We will repair, replace or refund the purchase price, at our option, of any Streamlight product that does not work or that you manage to break for as long as you own it.
Of course, this limited lifetime warranty excludes abuse, batteries, bulbs and chargers. Rechargeable batteries and chargers have a (1) one year warranty with proof of purchase. To return your Light to take advantage of this guarantee. Go to Streamlights FAQ section for locations and information about Streamlights repair centers near you including the factory information. In any country or under any jurisdiction where specific restrictions exist on limited lifetime warranties, Streamlight offers a 10-year limited warranty.
*Excludes Sidewinder and M-series weapons mounted lights.
* See product for specific warranty.

Hope this helps.

The ones I got suck. If they were in a rubber housing they would be much better.

On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best, I would rate these flashlights a 4.

Each time they get banged, bumped, or dropped, the bulbs come out or go out. The handle is too skinny and the light end where they flare out is not very durable.

We mainly use them in HUD houses. They do light up well and the battery life is fair. Hard to keep them in the car charger working because every time we go off the curb or hit a bump in the hood we have to re-set them.

A rubber housing would make all the difference in the world.

I agree Frank, I have the same problem with mine.
I definitely don't like the chargers either.

I have 2 ultra stingers. I have had one for 4 years & the other one for 3. I alternate for each inspection so one is always on the charger. I have a DC just in case & always carry a spare bulb. I go through on average 4 bulbs a year. I just ordered 10 new bulbs & a new battery for my oldest light. I also bought a new switch because I tore the rubber boot. They come as an assembly so I couldn't just order the boot. I buy everything from Cop Quest. http://www.copquest.com/10-3300.htm

I got my new bulbs today and put them in the flashlights and they flashed on real quick and went right out. They both did this. What the heck does that mean?? I now have $200 bucks in these darn things and they dont work for crap.

These flashlights suck.

Well if you all want to spend some money on a flashlight, here is the best deal around. It is an 3 LED flashlight with an ultra capacitor.

At a local meeting last week, our tool guy brought his out. Just got it the week before. He purposely left it on for 2 days before the meeting to make sure it was completely dead. He plugged it into the charger and in 72 seconds, it was fully charged. Lasted for just under two hours and then recharged again in 74 seconds.

Spendy, but could be worth it. Average price is $170. but I have seen it for something like $140. No batteries to ever change. And LED means no bulbs to change.

Good shopping.

Just took both my Ultrastingers in to Batteries Plus and they fixed a switch on one and installed missing o rings that kept the bulbs in place, all for free.

Great flashlights.
