When you have excess inventory (like Chrysler) or excess time (like some home inspectors)... you should increase advertising.
I always tell home inspectors to set their alarm clock each morning and go to work. If they are not inspecting that day they should be marketing that day, until their schedule is full. Business is business and Chrysler is no different. Success comes from stepping it up, not down. Advertising is not a one shot deal, consistant and effective advertising is the best tool. Even thou sales are down, I don't see Wal Mart, Sears, etc. ramping down advertising, they remain consistant in order to entice consumers into their stores. Being that Chrysler needs to dispose of its inventory, what better way to do so, and get the "word out" than with advertising? |
