P trap in my bathroom

The bend is used to prevent sewer gases from entering the buildings. In refinery applications it also prevents hydrocarbons and other dangerous gases from escaping outside through drains. The most common of the straps are in houses. It traps debris that has drained from a sink and prevents it from forming a clog deep within the plumbing system and to stop sewer gases from passing into the home.

Your question ?..huh

Yes, I have one in my house also.
Did you know why they have replaced the drum trap.

A P-trap would be a poor choice to trap debris

Before I got into this biz, I thought they were only for recovering things that fell down the drain…

:DAll joking aside. this is the P trap in my bathroom.images.jpg

Thank god it is not a drum trap, you would have a problem.
