Uh...Mike...there is no such thing as a constitutional amendment or other provision that makes the VP "President of the Senate". Ex officio....meaning that the VP has no vote, except in a tie, is not a leadership position...but an honorary one.

Uh...Jim...it doesn't take a constitutional amendement to do that...it's part of the original constitution...Article 1, section 3. Spin it all you want, Joe's statement was wrong. I do agree, however, that the President of the Senate role is largely ceremonial.

First, I am one of those who feel that this election is like getting an old fashioned punishment for being a naughty child. Which do you prefer a whipping with a belt or a whipping with the stick? Either way I would prefer to take a third alternative that unfortunately was not available then or now. As for Palin's so called lack of experience, it seems that as a VICE PRESIDENT (not yelling just emphasising) she has more experience that the Junior Senitor from Chichago who is running for president.
The facts speek for themselves. As someone once told me about whole-life insurance salesmen (a truly bad product for the buyer) people can always rationalize what they are doing if it is in their best intrest. It is a way for the brain to protect itself from the hyprocracy of it's actions. Otherwise one would think and ultimatly drive themselves crazy. It is this ability to delude oneself that allowed some German soldiers to work in concentration camps, people to believe that communism and/or socialism can actually work and nationalized helath care would be good for America eventhough it has been a mizerable failure everywhere it has been implemented.

So why are we suprised that there is a group of selfdelusional people out there that even if it is ture that Palin is not experienced enough to be president ignore the fact that she is more qualified that Obama, who is even less experience at the task of running a government.
