Default Partnership for Advanced Technology looking for help.

The Partnership for Advancing Technology in Housing (PATH) is conducting a study to track the resale value of homes that were originally built with energy efficient or renewable energy (EE/RE) technologies. PATH is currently seeking to identify homes and home builders that would be good candidates for case studies. These candidates should have the following characteristics:

·Built between 1995 and 2001
·Incorporate EE/RE features whose premium value was initially between $10,000 and $50,000
·Located near other homes (preferably by the same builder) without EE/RE features that can serve as a baseline for comparison
oIdeally, the sample EE/RE unit will come from a mixed development of EE/RE and non-EE/RE houses built by same builder, at the same time, and in the same location.
oAlternatively, the sample EE/RE unit and non-EE/RE baseline units may come from the same developer, construction year, and neighborhood, but separate developments.
oFinally, the EE/RE unit may come from a green builder who can estimate the market value of the EE/RE features separately from the rest of the house when originally constructed.

All selected case study participants (and those NACHI home inspectors who refer them) will receive a copy of the project's final report as well as feedback on the ability for their EE/RE homes to accrue in value as compared to other local homes. If you are aware of any builders or developments that might qualify for inclusion in this study, please contact Mike Moore of Newport Partners. Newport Partners is a building consulting firm that is managing the project for PATH. Mike can be reached at mmoore@newportpartnersllc.com or by phone at 303.279.6769.
