Actually, the speech itself was pretty good. Much like the same type of speech that George Bush I gave when he was President. I seem to recall that the Dems blasted that speech, as well, and called for Congessional hearings into its propriety.

The problem wasn't so much the speech (which was re-written, after it became exposed) it was the "lesson plan" that the Dept. of Education and the NEA developed to accompany the speech. This curriculam plan was cancelled.

That is the problem with government schools. When the Feds and the Unions take control, anything can happen.
