Question Pre-Inspection Agreement

I'm a new inspector and I recently lost a potential client because the Real Estate Agent nor the client had ever heard of a Pre-Inspection Agreement and of course the client didn't want to sign it because they thought I was asking too much from them. Am I being unreasonable? Aren't PIAs standard practice? I'm insured with FREA and they require that I have a PIA..

IOA's are standard practice.

What Joe said... PIA's Are standard operating practice.

FREA also requires a "fee paid inspection" be a part of the agreement, thus adding to the 'pay me now' leverage.

I'll bet you the real estate agent has a contract.

What do you mean? I'm sure she had a standard listing agent contract.

Exactly, ever since I started using a contract my complaint ratio went down.
