It is most likely not economically practical to recover in most instances. I use some medications (e.g. colloidal silver) which is probably not recoverable. I don't know if silver used in photography is recoverable.
I wonder how much silver is in space now?

A side note: The local regional representative of CREIA told me a few years ago that gold would never go over $1000 per ounce because you could turn lead into gold for about that much! .
I never had much confidence in him before that statement, but that one really did him in for me.
