Default Re: Should InterNACHI take over ESA (Environmental Solutions Association)?

I have been a member for several years and have taken almost every one of their courses. The course material repeats itself from one to the next and there isn't that much diversity between some of them. Membership benifits are not all that much and whenever you call for an answer to some of the simplest questions, it takes hours to days to get an answer. They are constantly trying to sell courses through emails and phone calls, but offer very little to existing members. I would have to agee that some of their taining classes are lacking valuable information in order to inform potential inspectors how to perform certain procedures correctly.

I haven't heard if they were selling the company, so I don't know where the take over discussion is originating. I do know that their office staff is hardly reachable most of the time because it seems that nobody really answers the phone there. Office staff are always unavailabe because they are in training sessions all the time. If there was an offer on the table for InterNACHI to take on the responsiblity of handling calls, then I am all for the idea.

Been a member off and on since 2002.
when we have new guy's that need radon training for Florida, I get a discount as member for classes.
Why would anyone mess with ESA for environmental certifications ( except radon for Florida) when ACAC is out there. ACAC is accepted by all the states that have environmental licensing. You can call it master environmentalist or master baiter but if it's not from ACAC the industry knows better.
After ten years and thousands of projects, that's my 2 cents.
Have a good weekend.

LOL.......I don't see the benefit of ACAC....do you need it to get licensed?....So apparently its as useless as the others...

I love how people see THEIR qualifications as the PREMIER qualification...perception is reality in each persons eyes...

I was a member of ACAC and ESA, both appear to be in it just to sell their courses. Both got good courses. No benefits with either org. If I would take another course, it would be from ESA. ACAC is ran like A$HI.

Thanks for the heads up, I was considering ACAC, now I'll just pass and wait to see what Nick will do.

I was a member for a couple of years and decided not to renew this year. I just don't see them being interested too much in their members recently. At least this is an impression I got. When I just joined, I could call Bernie, (one of the main trainors there) anytime. When he retired I don't even have a list of contact people there who I can ask specific questions.

Nick, case and point....Needed a guy to take a Radon class. Set for Aug 15th...well they got cancelled, so they moved it to OCTOBER 15th...well now that guy has something to do, got sick...BLAH BLAH BLAH.......now moved it to Nov 15. I called and got my money back. But this is the quality of professionalism you get from them.

I guess this is an old forum. Well ESA has been dunning me to death to re-up membership. I have been getting e-mails from one guy and calls from another. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing? I told them my finacial situation and they want to sell sell sell sell! When I need them they dont answer the phone or I get some lady on the phone that sound like she is on sleeping pills!

I think they may have some good courses but customer care, communication and organization is severally lacking.

I vote for NACHI taking over ESA!

Larry

I was a member and did not feel they did any thing but ask for more money .
Well they are on to canvasing none stop .
It is obvious they are trolling the NACHI site as this is the only place I have put my new email address .
8 or more letters asking me to take their courses.
There is no place to remove you address from their letter .
I sent back and forth about 6 letters I do hope I am now of their list for a while . HA HA HA .
They are a nuisance that I do not need .

Nick, if you take over ESA, please send me the $350 they owe me for a wasted membership. Owner promised to give it to me but reneged and refuses to take my calls since. owner promised me a ton of things and never delivered on one. Plus, I travelled to tampa for one of their courses and they cancelled it without even telling me - refused to give me even gas money for wasting my time.

BS organization with absolutely nothing to sell worth buying

I just signed up with ESA for their Radon class in Jacksonville on July 9 & 10. I hope it doesn't get canceled. I did not join ESA outright because besides Radon certification, there wasn't anything I was interested in. I already paid my money and I would rather it go to InterNACHI because I know it would be better spent.

Anyone else going to Jacksonville for the State Certification in July? I might be in a class by myself!!!

Yes Nick take it over if you can.
Make it better than it has ever been and satisfy all the ESA members with next to free education.

I've tried taking some courses through them. I've called them numerous times and am still waiting for my certificates - from 2 years ago. I'm not sure what they could offer that NACHI doesn't have already.
