Looks like perhaps the neighborhood has a few bullies and cliques. Not a good thing. But it also looks like Nick has said how it is and we should move on to bigger and better discussions.

Why is the immediate response "If you don't like it, leave"?

Unlike you Cheryl, I am not a vendor who is tied to the organization by a financial interest. I am here because I choose to be here and respect many of the inspectors on the board and believe in the organization itself.

Either we are an organization of rules and order, or we are not.

If anyone can take it upon themselves to disregard the decisions of the ED and decide for themselves what rules/designations they will abide by, then there is no association and it should be immediately disbanded.

Is it just me, or is anyone else getting the impression these tapes are going to be a huge letdown?

Whispers of conspiracy, earth shattering news, intrigue, rumor, innuendo.

I have feeling when the contents are divulged, there will be a collective yawn and all the "oooo I heard the tapes" muckrakers will have to crawl back under their rocks.

1) Sometimes, just the threat of tapes is a much bigger stick that any actual tapes.

2) Sometimes, undisclosed tape contents is a much bigger stick than disclosed tapes.

I was in some meetings, down there in Florida. I never heard anything said in secret that I did not hear in public.

Maybe I was in the wrong meeting.

In any case, I rarely say anything in private that I would not say in public. Keeps life simple.

The exception would be if someone disclosed something to me in confidence. When people do tell me such things, I usually tell them that I don't want the burden or responsibility.

One time, my wife told me something and asked me to keep it in confidence. I wish she hadn't. It involved a very good friend and I had to, later, lie to him telling him I didn't know anything about it. Put me in a real bad position. I would rather not go there again.

Everyone has opinions and feelings. Mine are pretty much an open book. There are some things that other people do or say that I may not agree with or like, but what can I do? I can't change their minds or feelings. I just try to see the good in people and focus on that.

“WE” means every inspector that I have spoken to.

“WE,” are in agreement that out of approximately 7,500 inspectors less than 12 are trying to DOMINATE the Bulletin Board.

Actually jwortham I DO choose to be here and I also respect Nick and his decisions. I also respect many inspectors and believe in the organization. So don't be so quick to react just because I don't share the same view as you.
