Chris,

What is the point of this portion of the message board rules?

It's obviously not enforced.

Is there a plan in action for all users (members and non-members alike) to register in order to enforce this?

I think many would agree that would be a good thing.

BTW: I just noticed a new user that is being welcomed to the forum today.

????? Hmmmm.
You make a Good Point!

Many of us are DISGUSTED that non members and especially EXPELLED members are having a field day on our message board!

There are many "Professional" Home inspector associations and NACHI is the only one with a WEAK & INEFFECTIVE "IT Department" that does not have the KNOWLEDGE or the guts to stop the DAILY and continual HACKING by Raymond Wand and others of his ilk!

Try to "hack" the ASHI message board and see what happens!

How does one "hack" an open message board? Kind of like picking a lock on an open door, no?

You do understand that much of this message board is open to non-members, right?

I think what Frank is referring to is the warm welcome that is afforded the banned ex-members who post here with the intent to harm us.

Okay. Shortly after a verbal barrage attacking other members, this (according to you) "Unknown" poster said this:

He is purposely being left out of the Goon Squad activities because the facts tell the truth. Even Mark Cohen opined that Joe Farsetta had no cause for his over the top actions committed against Ray. I think its time you culled the Goon Squad, this battle will continue and its obvious Joe tells you what to do. Its a disgrace and you are not better for letting it get way out of hand. Joe condones Roy being ripped off, and you have done nothing to instill what is right, and Joe calls Roy in a fit with no reason and you give your blessings and condone it.
You responded, first....

And that's the problem alot of people wants fixed. They want some kind of indentification or approval system set up so not just anyone can post to our board. As for hacking your right. You need to break into one's server's and mess with code to do that. I think they meant they want the attacks to stop regardless who it's from. To be honest with you and I'm not sure if you noticed yet but since the battle I fought along with some others people have calmed down alot. It's actually quite nice and pieceful in here at the moment lol .

I don't mind that everyone in the whole world has free and open access to a lot of this board. I've learned a TON of stuff from non-members. I just think it makes good sense to make them register and follow some basic rules or they can be kicked out. Not that big of a deal.

My question was asked because, a rule is pointless unless there is a way to enforce it. How can you tell if someone is using more than one log in account if you don't know who the heck they are. I don't mean to offend anyone, but that just seems kind of stupid to me.

I don't mind either Mark. I'm with you anyone can post just verify who's signing up. That way they can't create multiple ghost accounts. It's easy to do. The problem is someone has to take time to verify these people and that's what I think NACHI doesn't want anything to do with. Time consuming.

No one has to verify anything. The sign in process would create a database. The info is a record in the database. When a person signs in, that name is checked against other names/info that is already there. And individual would have to use a credit card to confirm his/her identity.

Only time a person has to interact is if an individual is banned. Then that info would be put into a separate file, and used to reject future attempts.

It can be controlled. Without being "policed".

The same type of message board design.
