Default Water Level

Anyone use a water level to check your foundations?

Want to share your experience... good or bad results?

Hi John,

I don't use a water level, but I commonly use a lazer to check for differential settlement on structures supported by piers.

Gerry

Gerry,
Do you measure off the plate with your laser, against the foundation?

I decided a long time ago that measuring the foundation and offering an opinion was a little too far outside the scope of my inspection protocol and might even be verging on offering a professional engineering opinion which I am not qualified nor licensed to do. If in doubt, I have 2 structural PE's I recommend for further investigation. Both use zip-levels.
