They sure do.

Because they dominate in areas that Nachi lacks in... Rural areas of North Central America, in particular.

Minnesota being NAHI's backyard, Nick doesn't even step foot in this state. In the 4 years I've been with Nachi, I do not recall Nachi ever having any kind of event here. A couple of years ago, there was a seminar scheduled, but it was cancelled at the last minute and combined with the one in Milwaukee, WI.

The only event I recall, was about 3 years ago, given by Bruce and Judy Kirby (and other vendors attended). Although it had a Nachi presence, it was not a Nachi event.

Heck, we didn't even have an 'active' chapter that I could locate, until this last year. 3 have started up (including the one I began this last summer), but are all in fledgling status. Gaining membership to the chapters is difficult when we are all scattered about. Not uncommon to have 50 or more miles between Nachi Members in the rural areas here.

Anyone interesting in joining the Southern Minnesota chapter, please contact myself, or Casey Patton via the above link.

That's not even close to true. If ASHI national were crippled or better yet crushed, that would empower NACHI in all of these local markets. What logo do you think these offshoots would be paying to use? In NJ, Nachi education could be recognized for more than just 25% of your CE credits.

I don't think Nick, or anyone else has or had, any intention of doing a thing to ASHI. This whole thread should be listed with the "Best Marketing Strategies" threads.

Certainly not "best" marketing, judging by how you were unable to sell anyone on agreeing with you.

Your NJ ASHI guys worked hard lobbying for that law to protect consumers from their competitors. Other ASHI members in other states have done the same. Those who remained silent deserve what they have.

The 25% thing in New Jersey has absolutely nothing to do with InterNACHI in particular.

New Jersey only accepts online courses for 25% of the required CE regardless of source. Using your thinking, New Jersey accepts 0% of ASHI's online courses (because ASHI has no approved online courses).

Only inspectors in New Jersey can raise that percentage.

I guess I missed the part where I was selling my opinion to anyone, but post 51 agreed with me.

Our own NJ chapter president sent me an invitation to join the local chapter. In the letter he mentioned partners such as Tri State ASHI and Garden State ASHI. I won't even consider joining them!

What voice is it that you were referring to with the NJ HIAC?

I don't think so. If you buy ASHI, you control the name and its use. I would like nothing more than to see those "holier than thou" inspectors up here in WA have their name yanked out from under their feet. I laugh just thinking about the looks on their collective faces when they are told they must remove the name ASHI from all their business cards, flyers, and websites and to cease and desists from using the name in any form.

Come on Nick, your spinning now.
If that were the case, why bother getting them approved. The HIAC is made up of ASHI members, we use an ASHI approved Carson Dunlap curriculum for initial licensing. Most of NJ's guys with active licenses are members of ASHI or their chapters, even our guy partners with the NJ ASHI chapters. The 160 or 170 Nachi members in NJ (anemic, when you consider 700 to 800 or so active lic.) what voice do we have against them.

FINISH THEM! Let's give InterNACHI the respect it deserves in NJ.

So that our guys can take the courses online for free.

ASHI has less. 114 members in NJ if all of them renewed this week (which they didn't).
