Default Attention Montana Inspectors

I just received this email that may be of interest to Montana Home Inspectors.

Quote:
To All Home Inspectors In Montana and Our Friends …

A second state wide MAREI meeting is scheduled for Saturday November 18, in Bozeman at the Holiday Inn. We will start promptly at 10:00 AM and end promptly at 2:00 PM. Lunch will be served in the room during the meeting. The Holiday Inn is at the 7th Avenue exit, immediately south and west of the freeway interchange.

Our intention will be to discuss alternatives and put in place a recommendation for the state registration or certification of home inspectors. We hope also by that time to have found a legislator who is willing to move this program forward during the coming legislative session.

Registration might look like a fairly short but important set of requirements similar to those adopted in North Dakota. This might be an “entry level” process for us here. And something we could implement now with a reasonable expectation that we could grow it into a larger program at some future date. Here is the link to the North Dakota web site. Check it out!

http://www.nd.gov/sos/homeinspector/

Or, perhaps it might look like a more complex certification program. Suggestions for this option were created during the first MAREI meeting in Bozeman several weeks ago. These proposals have been posted on the MAREI web site. Go to the site … just click on the link below. Look left and click on “Message/Discussion Board”. Look under “Messages”. Click on “State Issues”. Then open “Ethics Proposal”, “Qualifications Proposal”, and “Standards Proposal”.

www.montanainspectors.org

If these issues are relevant to you and your inspection work, please join us at this meeting. If you have thoughts to share and cannot make the meeting, e-mail them to me. Keep them brief and to the point. And if they are less than 350 words, I commit to read them aloud to the group. We want all views to be heard. Now is the time for you to share your voice.

Our goal is to create a consensus of views molded into one voice that might be heard at the state level. We’re not striving for everyone to look at the world through the same pair of glasses. This is not about us all coming from the same “cookie cutter”. We will likely not all agree with each other.

But if we want more than the current “trade practices” act here in the state, we will need to create a “common ground” upon which we all can stand. A place that will support high professional standards and support high levels of trust amongst the Realtors and clients we serve.

Come join us!

As before, during the meeting, we will ask for a $20 donation to cover the cost of our meeting room and lunch. Please send Pam an e-mail if you are planning to attend. That way we can make sure your lunch is waiting for you when you arrive!

We both have Joe's Garage...

It's where we watch The Slime.

It's where we use the Camirillo Brillo.

It's where we see The Muffin Man.

If we're deviant, it's where we keep our Penguin in Bondage.

I could have swore her hair was made of rayon.

Appears that Joe & I might have gone to different schools together... I majored in Zappa at Marijuana War Memorial High School, class of '72.

I am gross and perverted
I'm obsessed 'n deranged
I have existed for years
But very little had changed
I am the tool of the Government
And industry too
For I am destined to rule
And regulate you
I may be vile and pernicious
But you can't look away
I make you think I'm delicious
With the stuff that I say
I am the best you can get
Have you guessed me yet?
I am the slime oozin' out
From your TV set
You will obey me while I lead you
And eat the garbage that I feed you
Until the day that we don't need you
Don't got for help...no one will heed you
Your mind is totally controlled
It has been stuffed into my mold
And you will do as you are told
Until the rights to you are sold
That's right, folks..
Don't touch that dial
