I do not do Down Right Awful Wage (draw) inspections, I would rather get a job at McDonalds, they would pay better and on-time..................... wake up, if you do draw you are just hurting yourselves...........

Folks
I was not going to answer this but ignorance and perception can have disastrous consequences on the already dismal morale of our inspectors in today’s market. We are very fortunate to have won one of the WCE contracts in Florida. I am very excited that for once a home inspection company gets a chance to do some good within the industry and not a mold company or appraisal company or what ever other company that uses our industry inspectors when ever and where ever they want. You should be happy for once someone within our industry has done this and yes that someone outside of our industry is not getting rich on us because of this. I cannot say it was luck that got us where we are, as it took three staff members and me almost a month to complete the proposal, which was far more intense than the RFI and RFP’s of 2006. And believe me when I say these were not 40 hour weeks! We also spent a lot of time with our attorney and accountant in addition to the technology consultants for which we will spend well in excess of seven figures to develop systems to make us competitive in a market that is awash with massive companies, again that use our inspectors but are not inspectors themselves! It is interesting that some of these companies have their own lobbyists watching over the home inspection industry, but you can be sure it is not for our interest! In all we spent many thousands of dollars to get where we are today and are extremely grateful and excited for the opportunity. We want to make an impression to the state, that we are a credible industry. We have some great players. We have great knowledge. We are far more than that of the negative remarks of our cynics. As far as paying inspectors, our program will allow inspectors to make between 2-3000 dollars per week. We are currently recruiting in the region 1 area. For those that are earning this in their home inspection business you are doing absolutely fine. Don’t hold it against those that are not. I can assure you that we will do everything we can not just for the individual inspectors wanting to work for us but also for the industry at large. My advice to many on this board, like many of my close friends have heard me say many times, if keep doing today what you did yesterday, you must expect the same results tomorrow. For the rest, remain positive. We are in an ever changing market. Sitting still an waiting is just going to make you miserable. Generate your own luck. After spending many days and hours in the critical care waiting room, it reminded me of my strong belief, to never look up as it doesn’t matter. Always look down and be grateful for where you are. Couldn't have been won by a better man. I'm glad one of ours got it.

Sound like a good deal. To make that type of $$ with the "Other" companies one would have to do about 10 inspections a day!
In 8 hrs they better be close together or you will have to buy a fast car of plane. Hope the reports take about five minutes to write 10 reports at 5 min per is 50 min. Ok 1 hr. Maybe the reports could be made by cell phone to an answering machine while driving to the next inspection. rlb Last edited by rbennett; 4/15/07 at 3:38 PM.. |

Just take Greg's ICC Boot Camp (Great Class and software), get your B1 and do them for yourself for $150.00 per inspection.
Congrats Mike on getting the contract. I rather see another inspector get it than JVI, Skytec ect. |

I think I was more excited about Michael getting it than he was. Maybe I'm just overly competitive. Anyway, every bidder that included a letter of reference from me, won
With regard to the split, I know that many inspector's net revenue (after paying for all the marketing costs and operational costs for their business) plus their vehicle expenses isn't much as a percentage of gross revenue (in other words, their just churning dollars). How in the heck is your favorite vendor supposed to pay for 100s of thousands of $$$ for nacho member free benefits, the $180,000 for 1000s of vending machines for your non-existant nachi magazine that is geared for nick to get new members, along with all the other things that he provides FREE to nacho members only.. Last edited by dharris; 4/19/07 at 1:03 AM.. |

Dan have you really only posted 30 or so times on your own board? That is very odd indeed.
Scott Patterson's low opinion of Tradsemen is telling, I believe he thought Pipe Fitters were not too clever. Last edited by bkelly2; 4/19/07 at 1:20 AM.. |

I didn't see the part about pipe fitters... If Scott said pipe fitters were not too clever I'm sure he knows what he's talking about and I'll agree with him Brian.. I need 3 more green points to reach 100,[ I think that will get me double greenies] can you give a fellow AZ inspector a hand?? Last edited by dharris; 4/19/07 at 1:59 AM.. |
