Your state rep already voted in favor of the bill, probably without ever reading it, so contacting him/her is fruitless.

Don't forget to send your thoughts to Lt. Gov. Kottkamp as well.

Don't interfere with anything in the Constitution. That must be maintained, for it is the only safeguard of our liberties.

At the time of this post, no delivery to the Governor yet. Keep the calls coming.

Angry Re: Florida Licensing Bill - Action Soon

I am discouraged because I heard this is a done deal for the millionth time. I have never stopped sending e-mails and making calls. The only thing that has stopped is a response from Rayman Brett who used to answer e-mails, now does not. If everyone from NACHI sent e-mails and called, the bottom line is the bill would still pass. I tried to get one minute on the phone with the assistant to the governor and they would not give me the time of day. But, you take a $50,000 donor to the Republican Party and Crist is all ears for 10 minutes. Republicans suck, and Democrats blow. Money has purchased our profession and Charlie Crist and those *** hole representatives that are supposed to represent the people only represent the people with money. Do I sound pissed? I sure feel that way.

Paul,

There will be many changes made to the bill over the next three years. Lets just hope they are for the better.

People pushing for this bill just want a bill period. They will do a lot of fine tuning. It's up to Florida NACHI to get organized, involved and be a part of the change making process.

Relax, everything will work out, you'll see. We must get involved and help make this bill one that offers both consumers and inspectors protection, and one that is fair to all in business.

Paul:

The game is not over. They said the same thing about HB 315. Insurance companies are opposed to the mold provision. Increased costs across the board. The HI industry is opposed to the Bill. The warranty companies are also fighting the Bill. HI are not alone with this one.

Here is a little joke you can share to break the ice and let them think you might know a little something about Florida.

After Bobby Bowden dies and enters the Pearly Gates, God takes him on a tour.

He shows Bobby a little two-bedroom house with a faded FSU banner hanging from the front porch. "This is your house, coach. Most people don't get their own houses up here," God says. Bobby looks at the house, then turns around and looks at the one sitting on top of the hill.

It's a huge two-story mansion with white marble columns and little patios under all the windows. Gator flags line both sides of the sidewalk and a huge Gator banner hangs between the marble columns. "Thanks for the house, God. But let me ask you a question. I get this little two-bedroom house with a faded banner and Spurrier gets a mansion with new Gator banners and flags flying all over the place. Why is that?" God looks at him seriously for a moment. "That's not Spurrier's house," God says. "That's mine."

- Go Gators!

"By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest." -Confucius
