Look for the date to be pushed out once again, nothing is currently in place and even more importantly no money has been appropriated for this boondoggle licensing bill, stay tuned!

And folks Jim won't tell you (it conflicts with his over and over line) that InterNACHI officially fought against this legislation twice. The Governor vetoed it the first time around using language drafted by InterNACHI's President at the time. We all wrote letter after letter the second time. We continue to argue for a change to remove mold inspector licensing from the law.

Hi Greg. Well as you know there were sopme of us who did put effort time and money into FloridaN.A.C.H.I. it seems like the leaders ( not you by the way) that dropped the ball. We promoted it to our local memberships and were unable to get even a return phone call .We all don't like being told how to run our buisness but it's better to conform than die, I too think this will be passed and then backed off since there has been no movement from th D.P.B.R. on testing or funding and with a significant budget deficit unless they make us pay for it and most of us can't afford it this will be delayed for sometime.

Dennis,
Same thing happened to FAPHI. Lots of interest as long as it was free and someone else did all the heavy lifting and put forth the effort to get to Tallahassee and talk to the powers. And this case no one was trying to tell anyone how to run or even want to know how they were running their business. I think it boiled down to just plain complacency and being too tight to put their money where their mouth was. Our local association footed the bill for FAPHI for several years but could not continue to so it went away due to lack of committed interest.

Dennis, no one "dropped the ball" several of us have seriously tried 3 times to get FLnachi organized, and 3 times with have been shot down, by both member apathy, and outside interference. I for one am not up for yet another go around.

Regards

Gerry

Having been on a local home inspector board now for over two years I have discovered that local is best, and organizations that are fragmented like Florida-NACHI & FAPHI are always struggling to remain relevant to the home inspectors needs.

Our local ASHI chapter works because it provides good marketing at a cost far below of what it would cost the inspector if he had to purchase the same level of service on his own. It is successful because it provides low-cost MRC's that are required for membership. It works because the members are willing to devote the time and money that are required for success to happen.

It works because many Home Inspectors are cheap smacks and are always looking for a free lunch. None should ever talk about cheap Realtors. I know some inspectors who are so tight their butt squeaks when they walk.....or least it sounds like squeaks.
