An active well organized state NACHI Chapter would be great. FABI does have great quartly seminars, full of information and good guest speakers. I just dont agree with helping them support this bill so I let my membership expire. I do miss the educational events though.
We can do the same. Lets do it, I will help anyway I can. |

Good morning Jay,
You and Joe are right on target with your previous posts about licensing negating advanced credentials that many of us have worked hard to achieve. I am interested in "Nicks plan" to combat this very real issue should licensing become a reality. |

Apparently, I did not pay my dues. As a non member, I paid for 1/2 of a booth at a home buyers expo next month were I will be representing NACHI.

I am just a little bit disappointed NACHI did not do more.

I did think NACHI should have a full-time Legislative Director

Hi Gary,
There is really not much that NACHI as an association can do. The current bill does not have any restrictions that would cause NACHI to fight against it. The one thing that I have learned over the past few years is that there will never be a common ground when discussing legislation. The only thing that most can agree with is that it is best not to have it. There is always going to be someone that feels the bill is wrong for personnel reasons. I am very concerned about what our profession will look like in 2010. Who is going to influence this bill during the next three years? I can guarantee you that it won't be us if we don't get organized . Greg Bell Titusville, Fl 02111507 Serving Central Florida

NACHI has far-reaching and powerful resources to call upon, but there is nothing the association can do by itself. 90% of the work and 100% of the coordinating must come from the local level. The states that kept licensing at bay this year did it locally and had NACHI assistance at their fingertips. IMO, Florida did too little too late, this year, to fight the bad guys. By the time you discovered the phony "coalition" scam pulled on all of the unlicensed states this year....the bill was already introduced and fast tracked. |

I am a little upset about a miss communication somwhere -- How did more than one current Florida NACHI email lists get down here to "someone" to start a state NACHI chapter when we already have one???
Last time I heard Harvey was president and Jay was leg chair or something It seems to me that a state NACHI email should be real easy. Jay ---- your email letter is OK to go. I do think that more than one is in order. Just to remind all Florida NACHI members that their voice is needed NOW and tomorrow and the next day. I would also think that some communication from some NACHI people with titles to the Gov would be in order. They can state that they are NOT speaking for NACHI because NACHI only speaks when the leg is anti NACHI but it has come to their attention that many members are upset with the bill and that it will hurt the consumer This idea that it will change before it goes into effect makes things even worst Right now Florida is regulating survivors and because of how high the rope is and the low income in related to required education to getting licensed the state has a problem This bill will kill the needed mold inspection profession in the state. To even include it in this bill is wrong. If anything put it in with the WDO area with the control going to the department of Aug. rlb PS ---- Waiting to see the email to all Florida NACHI PSS ------ Calling and emailing the Gov office today PSSS ---- How about some press coverage |

We need to get organized and help influence the bill like Greg has pointed out.
We are the largest HI Org in Florida, we should have an influence on how it's crafted ove the next few years. |
