Hi Robert,

Welcome to the board.

After reading your post I had to get out the IEBC and IPMC to see if that could be a possibility down the road with the ICC. I think that the NHIE and the FABI test have the best chance of becoming the tests for licensing. It will be possible to have the NACHI test accepted if we can get it proctored. This might be something that we have to do just in our state, if possible. It will be interesting to see what all is proposed over the next three years.

Hey Nick,

That insurance is going to be needed in Florida. The bill requires one million in coverage.

I am not a member, although I have considered it .
I like your website and have attended several of your functions.
Seems like a lot of worry about mold here today.

We checked, we have more than enough training, more than enough experience, and insurance for the mold assessment requirement and have had it for a long time.

If bill passes maybe we will have a level playing field after all these years. Sad part of the mold business is so many people are not aware of what they do not know about mold.
We have been very very busy according to EMSL for a long time and don't feel the new bill will change anything.
Although it would be nice not to have to look at all the HI mold test reports people fax to us with questions.

Insurance and training are a small price to pay for a profession. It's to bad so many do not bother to get it on their own.
Hope everyone has a good week, it's 6pm and I'm going home early tonight.

We definitely need to be part of the fine-tuning process with this bill. The people pushing for this bill have many changes in the works. We need to get involved to ensure the bill is fair to all.

We're not seeking that any of our exams be used for FL licensing. Let the dumb****es keep using the Kindergarten NHIE. Like ASHI's lobbyist said publicly... simpleton licensing is killing ASHI. If they want to cut their own throat, let them. I'll send flowers.

Anyway, I have the mold E&O exclusive almost done and of course the NACHI member discount will be many times the cost of membership in NACHI.

I still think that if the DBPR is going to be involved things will be screwed up anyway no matter what we do I think the DCA needs to over see this heck they monitor the modular homes here why not the HI's here. What is the thought on all of the FL. inspectors? we need to find a common ground and run with it. What is the best approach here for the consumers. We need help here.

As of this post, the Governor has not received the Bill. Call his office in the morning and voice your thoughts.

Why is the state of florida refering everybody who calls for info on home inspection to ashi.? I have called several florida state agencies including the florida lic. and reg. dept. and they referred me to ashi. Is this biased or favoritism or what. I don't know the relationship with the state of florida and aschi. can someone explain? It sound like ashi and florida are sleeping together. lou
