Rather than killing several trees I decided to double side my reports and it has work like a charm. I hope DBPR accept my reports. I did call DBPR and they said it was fine. Now my package waits 21 pounds rather than 40+. All it took was one stick of ink + 2.7 rings of paper. Printed all in draft setting. Finger prints 57.25 "what a rip-off!!!!!. I could have got it for free. But the DBPR is in cahoots w/Pearson View.

Money going out the door to do what I was doing for eight years for free...

Florida DBPR is weeding out the pofolks............

LICENSURE BY GRANDFATHERING

Licensure by Grandfathering requires passage of an examination that is substantially similar to the state of Florida required examination and 14 hours of verifiable education related to home inspection. A completed application and all fees must be submitted to the department before March 1, 2011. The fee is $330 ($125 application fee, $200 initial licensure fee and $5.00 unlicensed activity fee). Your check or money order, made payable to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation, should be attached to the application. Applications filed under this provision will be reviewed by the department to determine eligibility based on meeting both requirements prior to July 1, 2010 for licensure by grandfathering.

From the application it sure looks to me like you would have had to pass your exam and had your 14 hours of education completed prior to today 7/1/2010 or it does not count, right?
Not true
The application states that you must meet the requirements no later than March 1, 2011.

You have until then to meet these guidelines.
The DBPR was able to establish the rules and that is there decision.
MANY who have taken the Florida InterNACHI exam after 7-1-2010 have been issued license based on taking our exam past that date.

I sent mine in, it too 2 boxes. My application took exactly 5 days to get approved. i guess the 80 plus lbs of paper just gave me a fast track green light. I sent my to Office max via the internet they had them printed the next day. My license number is 101....Home Inspection 101........great number.

Your way behind the times - we caught this typo the first 2 hours it was posted on the DBPR website 7-1-2010.
They issued a letter of applogy stating that Mach 1, 2011 was the correct date.

Ok I was looking on here for an answer to a question that was asked to me. Could not find it so here is the question:

If the company owner/operator is licensed by the state, do his employees have to be licensed too? I told this person yes, But he said he read some where tht only the owner/operator had to be. Just thought I would throw the question out there.

All inspectors must be licensed. They are not licensing companies, individuals only
