The link is for SB 2234. HB 1399 has a better chance of getting through. The Wind Mit has been removed. Remember SB 440 is also out there.

Funny how NAHI is the backer. Funny how there main guy would not answer my challenge to disclose this weeks ago when I brought it to the forefront.

Joe,

With regards to this bill, perhaps our resident poet laureate/inspection libertarian extrodinaire should change his tag line to

Illigitimus Non Carborundum

for "Don't let the Bastards get you down"

keep fighting.......

Received this e-mail today. I suggest all who are against the bill follow up with this person.

Mr. Magrone:
I would be happy to speak with you about SB 2234. Please give me you telephone number and I will call you. The General Government Unit in the Governor's Office is the unit responsible for tracking this particular bill.
Sincerely,
Brett Rayman

I just got off of the phone with Brett Rayman. He encourages all of us that are not in favor of this bill to e-mail him immediately. If the bill gets to the Governor's desk there is a review that is done prior to the signing of the bill. If there is enough noise made the Governor can veto this version of the bill. There are a lot of us guys that will not be grandfathered in and that is wrong. Step up and do this for one another. The e-mail is:
<Brett.Rayman@LASPBS.STATE.FL.US>
You can also call the Lt. Governor Jeff Kottkamp at 850-488-4711. This is the last chance to try and derail this bill. The only hope now is that we make enough noise at the Governor's office.

(4) The department may review and approve examinations
11 by a nationally recognized entity that offers programs or sets
12 standards that ensure competence as a home inspector.

What does this mean for NACHI guys?

What does this mean for NACHI guys?

NAHI, ASHI, FABI all have their own tests. These would be the only ones allowed.

These same orgs have been monitoring this thread as a way to be ahead of us. It is vital that the correspondence is professional, thought out, and to the point. FAPHI can assist with the correspondence. You can reach us through the faphi link in my tag line.

The time is now and not tomorrow!

What about NACHI's exam. What will Nick and the gang be doing to help its members if this thing passes?

Paul:

It is the intent of the NAHI pushers to have NACHI all but gone in this State. This agenda has been going on for years. The other associations have been losing members to NACHI for a very long time. The backdoor way to get the money back it to push CE through the prospective associations that would be required by the Bill. While I am in favor of CE, I do not want to give a penny to anyone who wants to put NACHI out of business.

The NACHI exam has been accepted in many States. Unless there is a clear legislative intent to include the NACHI exam, I find it hard to believe it would be a legal exam in Florida. NHIE will be pushed by NAHI and ASHI. FABI has their own exam.
