There are no more MSFH Inspectors. The list of approved inspectors has been removed from the web.

It is up to the insurance companies as to whom they will accept a wind mit from. The 4 point is still confusing, Nachi form, Ashi form, Fabi form are all supposedly acceptable to citizens WITHOUT an electricians affadavit attached. The state would do best to extricate themselves from this but as we will be (certified and liscensed) in 10 months the whole problem will be put to rest then. I am doing wind mits using my ICC certification B5 # and not even citizens is rejecting them. I'm just glad to get the crazy, stupid, moronic WCE monkeys off my back.

While a 4-point inspection may provide the necessary information, we will not accept an inspection completed by a NACHI inspector for this purpose, unless the inspector also is a Florida licensed contractor, architect, engineer, or building code official and includes the licensing information on the inspection.

We do not currently accept wind mitigation forms completed by a NACHI inspector unless the inspector also has the appropriate licenses. While I do not know if this will change, we are frequently reviewing and adjusting our inspection requirements.

Glad to hear you are having success with using your ICC Certification, but what is a B5?

The paragraph I posted is from an e mail I received August 4, 2009. Directly from the person named at the bottom of the e mail.

Also, I see my reply to Nick was not posted.

I am not doubting that NACHI is trying to get their inspectors approved for Wind Mitigation and roofs, if they are, great, but as of now, that isn't the case.

Be careful, that Contractor Exam School class qualifies you for NOTHING !
It teaches GCs how to fill out the form !
You would still need to be a GC etc.
Update me if anyone finds out different.

GC's are already certified to sign B1-1802's, no class necessary.

Ed you are absolutly correct. I just called them and they sell nothing more than a class on how to fill out the forms. Still will need someone to sign off for you to do these inspections. If inspectors want to preform these they would be better off getting a GC lisc. of their own.
This will also verify one's qualifications in my opinion, here in Fl, all you have to do is pay for a liscense, no experiance needed to advise some-one with an informed opinion.
Sorry if that last comment offends some,,, but thats the way it is in this state.

I have been ok with carriers deciding that I am qualified with the exception of Olympus and soon to come People's First. Nick I really hope we are moving to a State standard with NACHI being approved. Smiley faces and hang in there are great positive motivators but I would like some specifics please.

I would check on that If I were you... Not so simple... You need experience, cash in the bank and pass a test which most fail. It used to be real easy though. I do believe that the contractor is supposed to visit the site before signing the form, so it precludes you from using another's license. I think they were thinking of changing the form so the client would check the ID of the person doing the inspection.
