We were looking into qualifying as FHA fee inspectors and found out that we MUST be ASHI members. I particularly chose to join NACHI because it had more qualifying requirements than ASHI and I felt that NACHI was a better organization. However, apparently, some entities besides misinformed realtors and home buyers feel otherwise. My question is has NACHI tried to remedy the FHA requirements for ONLY ASHI membership. BTW, I am also a licensed professional engineer, and apparently that is not as qualifying as an ASHI membership.

That's not true. I am an FHA/HUD fee inspector (#K538 ) and am NOT an ASHI member.

Matthew, you are incorrect. Many InterNACHI-only members around the country are FHA inspectors.
