I just called Rich Workman's(state rep) office to discuss these issues. If I can get a meeting does anyone want to attend? It is in Rockledge, Brevard County.

Scuttlebutt is that the WCE program in regards to free wind inspections is dead... So it is doubtful that the WCE's will survive. I do not believe that the state was very satisfied with the results of the program and it appears that Senator Justice might have come to the conclusion that the WCE program was a violation of the Unfair Trade Act.

Did you know that the WCE's have been trying since late last year to have the OIR-B1-1802 form changed in a manner that would give them almost absolute exclusivity to the wind mitigation inspection market. Well I fought this hard and the original plan which was to have it approved in Dec, 08 and implemented on Jan 09 was stopped. Send me your e-mail and I'll send you some interesting attachments.

So according to the way I see it, only engineers, architects and contractors will be able to fill out the form. Unless the insurance company decides to accept another person.

Like I said on page one:
Quote:
That ship has already sailed.
There is a list that the insurance companies have and send out to their Clients. On that list, is who qualifies to perform WM inspections.
They are:
A Florida licensed general, residential, or building contractor
A licensed building inspector
A registered architect
An engineer in the State of Florida or
A building code official (who is duly authorized by the State of Florida or its municipalities to verify building compliance).
