I guess were safe then! In my experience the one who tries to use that kind of stuff in a legal proceeding gets rebuked by the judge. Some people just watch way too many TV judges to think that stuff has any bearing on the fine points of the law.

There are some real top notch professional real estate agents out there that really do look out for their clients best interests, and they are a joy to work with. Then there are the other 85%. They know it - so do we.

I've had agents come to inspectors (NAHI, ASHI, NACHI) with ways to channel funds or other gratuitys to them - but I haven't seen us going to them. In my area the ASHI & NACHI guys outnumber the NAHI guys so it always seems they have more participation in those type of programs than the NAHI guys do.

I haven't seen the NAHI or NACHI guys putting out flyers, ads or other stuff to the agents saying they were the only inspectors qualified to .................

I haven't see the NACHI or NAHI guys running around having meetings with the legislators or realtors behind everyone elses backs trying to bring up licensing.

I haven't seen the NAHI guys saying the other groups are scumbags,etc.

But maybe its a good idea for us lazy butts to get out and start doing so.

Maybe its different where some of you come from - this is the way it is where I live and work.

All the things you haven't seen NAHI guys do is probably a local thing since your state only has about 15 NAHI members. It seems to be quite a different story in other areas of the country.

Even NAHI's Secretary/Treasurer does a deceptive breakdown of organizations and/or certifications on his website, saying that "Most members are new inspectors" when referring to NACHI.

Locally his man has made no qualms about his belief that NACHI has "bastardized" the profession, but has had a real song and dance about doing work on homes after inspecting them. By law, we cannot do that in our state but he has defended the practice up until the recent change in the NAHI COE.

BTW Nick, I think you might want to have him remove the NACHI logo from his website. he had it on there, later removed it, and now it is back.

In our area (Kansas City) we consider "OUR AREA" on both sides of the state line. So there's more than 15, but its still kinda hard for me to believe that so few have been able to do so much. Thanks for noticing.
