This was posted over at InspectionNews, I am copying it here for two reasons, first is to show the logic that is in place there, second of course is because I believe it won't be long before the thread is deleted and I wanted to save it & my response for posterity.

I've run into a fellow HI in an odd place a couple times and it's fun to shoot the breeze. I don't ask what association he belongs to.... it really doesn't matter.

Just look at the amount of time spent in this thread alone disecting depositions, researching pointless babble, slinging accusations... Seriously, go play with your kids, go have a cup of coffee with your wife, go change your furance filter... whatever. I can't believe I just wasted 5 minutes of my life typing this... but come on, we're all in this together.

And this was my response to him...

The way of the world is thrust & parry, why should it be any different for home inspectors, in fact it is the rhythm of life and the stuff of our greatest novels.

Most of what you read here can be boiled down into righteous indignation of one groups belief in their own superiority and the refusal for that group to accept the right for the other group to exist, sorta a distorted reflection of what we see going on in other parts of the world. Solve the Middle-East conflicts and you too will have the solution to solve the differences between NACHI and the rest of the home inspection profession. As long as other associations view NACHI as fair game and refuse to acknowledge their right to exist we will continue to see more of this, count on it and don't be surprised when it happens.

NAHI's misguided Executive Director was blinded by her hatred of NACHI, it is obvious by the tone of Mallory's deposition; at one point she was confused and upset that others could not readily see that NACHI was a scourge to be eliminated, and that dogs are able to pass our on-line exam. What is next tales that we eat our children? If it is shame you are seeking a home for you might want to expand your scope of worthy recipients as there is surely enough to go around, gaze at your own reflection in a mirror when reading your last post and you just might catch a glimpse.

It just goes to show how differently this mess is viewed.

That deposition is pitiful, it is scary to think someone like this can be an ED of an association, and get paid for it! But it is even worse that an attorney would go forward with a lawsuit, with this evidence, or should I say lack of evidence.

When an attorney is anxious to settle a case without an award of money like this one did, it says a lot.

I found it much less remarkable, I know Jerry Peck personally and this is a new low for him, Jerry is another ex-NACHI/ASHI superstar who is now a bitter little man that obviously has a hard time finding his footing in an argument. Tracy, it is a shame you didn't take time to post my response to him also, I thought it was good, here it is below.

Generally, when someone plays the Nazi card they don't have much of an argument. As noted in a well-known maxim: The debate is over as soon as one side or the other is called a Nazi. Less well known is that the first side to play the "Nazi card" is clearly the loser of the debate, just ask anyone.

But in regards to freedom, I wake up in the morning and go about my business and at the end of the day I have done pretty much what I wanted to do that day; I punch no one's clock, there is no superior to which I am required to report, and for the last five years I am fairly compensated for my services, net-net I live well... So tell me again what is it about freedom that I don't understand?

What you lack is the ability to comprehend that people like me keep their own council and have no need of advice from half-wits like you and your ex-ASHI buddies. As far as I can tell there has never been a time where something you thought, did or said effected anything in my life, and I don't see that metric changing any too soon.

From where I sit it appears that people like you struggle with the decisions in your own life and yet somehow you still find the time to attempt to direct how other people should live, personally I find you and the other Peck-er heads here quite comical. Well that is all for now, keep on keeping on.

I was hoping to hear from Tracy, but it appears that he is just another InspectionNews Peck-er Head who's solution to every argument is the elimination of NACHI, its sad that so much time is devoted to defending our right to exist.
