New York Home Inspection Council

The Council will be meeting August 10th at 41 State St. in Albany. It is open to the public. This will be their first meeting. The current members of the board are:

Paul Gressin - Home Inspector appointed by the Govenor
Joseph Pasaturo - Home Inspector appointed by the Govenor
Joseph Whittington - Home Inspector appointed by Senator Bruno's office
James Salmon - Consumer appointed by Senator Bruno's office

There are 2 more consumers that need to be appointed. They will be appointed by Representative Silvers office.

They will be operating as a consultant to the Department of State, and because of that, the DOS has not made any decisions about Continuing Education, Reciprosity, etc. The DOS has been waiting for this meeting so that they could make decisions after getting the council's input. They want to get Council input first before setting forth Continuing Education Guidelines. Therefore, DOS will not be attending our chapter meeting in August. As it stands right now they will not have any answers to our questions. They are going to reschedule for our September or October meeting.

I will be attending this meeting on Thursday and post the results here on the board.
