Joe, with all due respect I and the rest of us who are affected by this law "get it" and we have been "getting it" for a long, long time!

For all the effort at defeating this legislation, the measure still passed as written.
Agreed!
And that is what is getting a lot of us angry! The "law" was passed and now this board is twisting and turning it in an apparent attempt to favor one Association over another!
So yeah ...... "we get it"!

For all the effort at alleging that the NHIE is not independent, the measure and provisions still passed.
Read the law!
It specifically states that the examination has to be "independent"!

I don't give a damn what anyone says the NHIE is not "independent" you are not going to erase history and federal trademarks just because it is "inconvenient"!

For all the questions hurled at Carla,

Since this post is directed specifically at me I will state.....with all due respect..... that I have not "hurled" anything at Carla!
  • In my opinion I have been respectful and moderate and my responses.
  • Carla is a grown woman she does not need anyone to champion her cause!
I will also add that in this thread if I had been "disrespectful" to Carla she should point that out to me and I will certainly be man enough to apologize.

she has provided an answer which at least addresses the challenges and fears of those who seek grandfathering. More than that, she cannot provide.
I for one am glad that Carla posted some of the "rules" that govern what she can and cannot do and what she can and cannot say.

This cuts through a lot of "red tape let's us know that we should be communicating with either the president of the board or the Executive Director of the board.

Please read the handwriting on the wall.
I for one do not see were the "handwriting on the wall" tells me or any other inspector NH that we have to ... ROLL OVER AND PLAY DEAD!

Our allegedly staunchest supporter in the NH legislature, Angelina Kopka, is seen in a photo op supporting the legislation.
That does not mean that Angelina Kopka has a closed mind! She is one of the smartest and nicest people you will ever meet.
I consider her to be a personal friend of mine. Like you said "it was a photo op"!

It is time to learn the rules of engagement and work to help ensure compliance.
The term .... "The rules of engagement" suggests warfare!

The rest is just noise.
With all due respect.... in my opinion..... The rest is just noise...... is the same as saying we should "Roll over and Play Dead ".

We have lost the battle... let's not lose the war.
I beg to differ ..... "WE" have not lost anything ...... much less the war!

You have lost and will continue to lose unless and until you understand that (1) Carla Horne is but one member of a larger board and that she may not answer in a public forum for the board on which she serves and (2) no matter what you believe to be true, te Board will act on its own until the State instructs them to stop.

So, instead of trying to defeat the use of the NHIE (which I believe you wont be able to have set aside), why not build a plan, privately, to have NACHI's exam recognized, and present it to the board for approval. Once they reject it, ask for a reason then use that reason to point out the flaw in reasoning or interpretation of the law.

Its time to quit banging your collective heads aganst the table and use your brains for something else. You're smart folks. Figure it out. You wont beat them head on.

I'm no. 46 and surprised at the low number. As I recall there were about 160 or so on the email list that the board had.
The process was painless and the cost was in line with other professional license fees in NH. Good job to the board.
