It is amazing how RE and their associations are fighting back appraisers, lendors, inspectors, all of whom protect, and/or inform consumers. No one wants to hear the truth anymore. So, confusion is the norm. Good videos, James.

If licensing is "no big deal", according to the end of the comments, then why have licensing at all? Why spend all this time and effort to write and pass laws to only benefit the educational providers, insurance agents, software writers, and all of the attorneys who write all of these rules and regulations in the first place? Licensing only levels the playing field. Inspections will be basic, written on all the same forms, with all the same language and verbage. Competition between inspectors will be gone, and only the low-ball inspectors will get the business. If I were Bruce, I would be screaming my head off to get these laws stopped. You will be working for the government, and not yourself. Your freedoms as a home inspector will be gone.

There are more whores to be found at a single meeting of ASHI Legislation Committee Members than in any chicken ranch in Nevada.

"Gee, they came to us when they didn't have to.....so let's reward them by pushing for a bill that is harmful to our industry and our businesses and that provides the realtor an advantage over the home inspection consumer....so we are not harmed."

Nick, you talk about how easy it is to become a member of ASHI....but you left out a step that is not easy at all.....It's the part where you have your balls removed......

Thanks Nick for the links and the info from George! I'm in NC and received a confusing notice by the NCHILB about the pro's and con's of the new rules. I'll look into contacting my House Rep's.
